A reminder that presale tickets go on sale tomorrow at the HS and MS offices! Be sure to buy what you need :)
Crew Work
Folks,
A big thank you to everybody that showed up to help today (2.27) for stage crew work! We achieved so much!! Things are getting crossed off of the list and other things have been started! On a side note, Mr. Stanforth and myself had to clean up after several of your messes. While we appreciate you showing up in such awful weather conditions, you still need to be responsible for cleaning up after yourself.
Things are going to be much grander than last year so continue all of the hard work!!!

Stage Crew for Saturday 2/27
UPDATE! Maintenance is plowing the driveway as I type this! Crew work is still on and easier to get to than previously mentioned.
This is Waibel.
The drive was not as bad as my drive home yesterday after crew work. As long as you are careful, driving shouldn't be much of an issue...on the roads. However, the entrance to the school is pretty bad. I ended up getting stuck in the main drive (but am out now). The drifts were shoveled by Stanforth and myself and two cars have come and gone without issue since my getting stuck.
Therefore, we are here, working on things for stage crew. If you so choose to come out and join us, please be aware that the entrance is quite difficult to drive through. It would be best to get dropped off by the road and walk in rather than try to drive in. Come to the side door by the cafeteria and we will get you in.
Hopefully some of you are able to make it to help out.
THIS IS NOT A REQUIRED MEETING!! THIS IS OPTIONAL!

Important note about Stage Crew meeting!!!!! 2/27 8:15am
I (Waibel) am leaving my house at 9am for the school. Please check the blog as I will post my assessment of the roads from my drive in. You can then use my assessment to determine if you want to come in to help with set. We still need to paint the door and tea party tables, build and paper-machete our mushroom and rocks, continue gluing leaves to trees, adjust lights, cut-out and paint Cheshire Cat tree, and anything else I am forgetting we need to do. There will be something for everyone, but look around 10am for my posting on the blog

Update
Today, Stanforth, myself and a few brave souls journeyed to the high school to do some set work. Trees are starting to look like summer time, tea party tables are almost complete. Still need to start on mushroom and rocks (hopefully tomorrow)
Stay tuned to any info regarding tomorrow's stage crew meeting. As of right now, I am planning on venturing out around 9:00am to see how the roads are. I will post on the blog only (no Facebook access at school), the status of the meeting. Most likely, it will still happen, however, it will be highly optional based on the roads.

No more snow!!!
After talking over the current status of the progress we have been making, Stanforth and Waibel have decided to cancel today's practice due to snow. We could make practice optional but it wouldn't guarantee everyone making it out there for it, potentially wasting people's time.
Waibel and Stanforth will be at the high school working with the lights and some set pieces. (We will be there until at least 2pm, we may be there after that but no guarantees) If you would like to come out and help with some crew work, you are more than welcome to join us. If the doors are not open, knock on the auditeria door for us to get you in. Anyone is welcome to help. We have more crew work to do at this point than we have a need for practice. Keep memorizing Act 2 though!

Crew Work
Great crew meeting today! (Well we could have used more people)
Big thanks to Chad Reisinger and Amanda Reed for coming out on their Saturday to help with building set pieces.
We still have a lot of work to do, so try to make it out if you can the next couple of meetings! We need some creative minds to help with some set pieces.
As far as memorizing lines, I stumbled across this quote to share with you;) Enjoy!
"Alice had learnt several things of this sort in her lessons in the
schoolroom, and though this was not a VERY good opportunity for showing
off her knowledge, as there was no one to listen to her, still it was
good practice to say it over." - Alice in Wonderland
Keep memorizing those lines folks ;)

UGH!
Here we go again folks!
Hopefully, we can get some practice time in this week! Looks like tomorrow will be canceled due to snow. Mr. Stanforth and Mr. Waibel went out to school today to drop off a TON of props and materials for the play, and really had a hard time driving the roads and even the parking lots were awful. While I hope we have school on Tuesday, it doesn't look good. If that is the case, check back here to check the changes in rehearsals. We need to get Act 2 Scene 5 in at some point, and it will be our first practice back.
I added a LINKS TO FUN STUFF link up top. Click, enjoy. Or just click
Again, please please PLEASE have your parts memorized for the upcoming practices! We need to get into the habit of doing the blocking without the scripts. Be prepared to work extra hard in the coming weeks!!
Enjoy what time you have off, but work on memorizing! See you all soon (hopefully)

Important info...PLEASE READ
After losing this entire week of practice and set design (and even purchasing stuff for set design), Mr. Stanforth and Mr. Waibel have sat down and hashed out a revised schedule for upcoming practices. We had to beef up significantly due to losing the first week of practice as well as this current week. Please make note of the rehearsal changes on the calendat below!
If you know someone that can sew and would be willing to help out with costume design, please have them e-mail Mr. Waibel waibelp@triad.k12.oh.us ASAP so he can get some ideas out to them. We are currently waiting to hear back from Urbana HS, as they are letting us use some of their costumes from their previous production of this very same play. We will not know what we will need costume-wise until we get to see what they have for us to borrow.
This coming week will be the final week we use scripts on the stage. If you haven't already, get busy memorizing your lines! If on stage, you forget a line, just yell out "LINE!" and someone will read you what you need to say. We need to start getting into the habit of scriptless action on stage.
Anyone interested in helping with set design can show up as scheduled next week. If we are able to get materials and supplies prior to Monday, we will use Monday as our first crew day. Please check back here or Facebook often.
Continue to pass out the Business Advertisement Forms! The company can either send the check to Waibel or wait to be billed from Waibel. We currently have 2 full page ads confirmed! We are off to a slow start, so keep pushing the business advertisements!
Also, continue to mention that family and friends can sponsor a special message to the cast or inidividuals by using this form
Pass the word around to your friends (especially those involved with basketball) to check the new schedule. The play performs it's first show 4 weeks from tomorrow (Friday).
Hopefully, we will see everybody this Friday at school! Remember that this coming Monday (President's Day) is no longer a day off due to exceeding our 5 calamity days.

Boooooo......snooooooooow!!!
OK, as always, if there is no school due to weather, there is no practice.
The Waibel and The Stanforth are looking at the schedule and trying to determine the best way of making up the lost rehearsals for this week while not giving up any more rehearsal time. We are contemplating adding a Saturday rehearsal in the coming weeks to make up for it. Stay tuned
Also, if you mentioned that you knew someone that could sew, please have them contact me ASAP

A few things
Folks,
Practices are starting to go really REALLY well! With basketball season ending, we should start seeing everybody present for rehearsals. Please make note of when rehearsals are for you. We broke them down by time so that people did not have to stay if they weren't in the first two scenes. Please be aware that being to practice on time is essential to being productive and successful!
Hopefully, starting this coming week, supplies will start to be purchased for the creation of some of our set pieces. Stay tuned for details!
We will also be needing help with costume makers! If you know of someone that can help with making costumes for the play, please have them e-mail me at waibelp@triad.k12.oh.us.
Continue to sell ad space for the program! Word on the street is our prices are rather low, so if we sell with a good pitch we should be able to have lots and lots of ads in our program (and more money for our future productions!) Remember to tell them the benefits of placing and ad, how many people will see it, as well as the group it helps out (Triad Drama).
On Facebook, look up Triad Drama Department and join up for another way to keep track of events and what's going on. You can upload pics from rehearsals and have fun with each other (I'm sure you all know how to use Facebook)
Have a great weekend and avoid the snow as much as possible! (Unless you're sledding or making snowmen/angels....then, HAVE FUN)
